WOMEN’S ACTIVE PARTICIPATION IS KEY TO A NEW NIGERIA-HON.(MRS) ROSELINE KIRIBO ORUPABO,

In a stirring call to action, Hon. Mrs. Roseline Kiribo ORUPABO, the National Woman Leader of The New Nigeria Movement (NNM), declared that the active participation of women is not merely beneficial but indispensable in making the dream of a new Nigeria a reality. She made this statement in her goodwill message postal on her social media handles  during the official launch of the National Awareness Campaign of the movement on January 17, 2025.

The event, which was a online convergence  of political leaders, civil society advocates, grassroots mobilizers, and citizens from across Nigeria and the diaspora, marked a pivotal moment for the movement’s quest to inspire collective action toward national rebirth.

Declaring with passion and conviction, Hon. Roseline articulated the movement’s foundational belief in inclusivity and gender equality. She stated, “The future we desire for our country cannot be built on the efforts of a few. Women have historically played transformative roles in nation-building. From the market stalls to the corridors of power, they have been the drivers of economic resilience, social justice, and moral guidance. To ignore their contributions is to undermine the very fabric of our national progress.”

She emphasized that achieving sustainable development and democratic growth in Nigeria requires recognizing the unique perspectives and skills women bring to leadership. According to her, “Inclusion is not a favor, it is a right. A New Nigeria must be one where women’s voices are not only heard but actively shape policy and governance at all levels.”

In her address, Hon. Roseline also commended Dr. Kenneth Ibuchi, the National Coordinator of The New Nigeria Movement, for his visionary leadership. She praised his foresight in creating a platform that brings together diverse groups of Nigerians, united by a shared commitment to rebuilding the nation’s socio-political and economic landscape.

“Dr. Ibuchi’s leadership has inspired a renewed sense of patriotism and purpose among Nigerians at home and abroad. His vision for a Nigeria built on integrity, equity, and opportunity for all is what this nation needs. The New Nigeria Movement is not just a political platform; it is a clarion call for collective responsibility,” she remarked.

Highlighting the importance of the newly launched National Awareness Campaign, Hon. Roseline described it as a critical strategy to educate and mobilize citizens. She noted that effective civic engagement begins with awareness, urging Nigerians to take ownership of their nation’s future by participating actively in democratic processes.

She further called on women across the nation and in the diaspora to rise to the occasion and seize the moment. “We need to move beyond rhetoric and step boldly into leadership roles. Whether as community leaders, entrepreneurs, policymakers, or activists, women must claim their place at the table. The new Nigeria we envision will be forged by the courage, wisdom, and tenacity of its women,” she said.

The National Awareness Campaign is expected to drive a series of outreach initiatives, public education forums, and leadership training programs aimed at equipping citizens with the knowledge and tools to foster positive change. Hon. Roseline underscored the movement’s commitment to inclusivity and transparency, promising that the campaign would amplify the voices of marginalized communities and ensure that no one is left behind.

In her closing remarks, she inspired a collective sense of hope and determination: “The road ahead may be challenging, but together, we are unstoppable. With visionaries like Dr. Ibuchi at the helm, and with the resilience of every Nigerian—men, women, and youth—we will build a nation where justice, prosperity, and unity prevail. Let this awareness campaign be a turning point in our history. Together, we are the architects of a truly New Nigeria.”
